The London College of Massage offers the very best complementary health therapies in our relaxing treatment rooms. We are renowned for our massage treatments by qualified, professional therapists, which are of the highest quality to be found in the UK. All the therapies on offer may help address specific health problems or simply reduce stress and tension.
Treatments Available
The therapeutic technique includes elements of the shiatsu and Swedish styles. Long, relaxing strokes are combined with pressure work on specific areas of tension. Shiatsu techniques are often used on the head, neck and face. It is a very thorough treatment and the client will leave feeling completely relaxed and de-stressed, or invigorated and energized. Many people visit regularly to keep physical tension at bay and to enjoy the luxury of this treatment. Benefits: Therapeutic massage is good for muscle aches and pains, back ache, stiff necks and shoulders, menstrual tension and PMT, migraine, insomnia, circulatory problems, for cellulite reduction and for the stresses and strains of modern life!
Remedial massage is designed to promote the healing of a specific physical problem, through deep massage and controlled manipulation of the joints and surrounding muscles. For example, a sufferer of sciatica or stiff neck would find a remedial massage very beneficial. The therapist would focus mainly on the area in question and the related symptoms. This is not the most relaxing of massages - it is a corrective treatment to relieve specific pain and persistent physical disorders. The therapist may work deeply to help correct the problem. Treatments are usually from half an hour to one and a half hours. The client may require a course of several sessions. Benefits: Those who suffer from backache, persistent aches and pains of all kinds, sciatica, strains and sprains, skeletal weakness, joint problems and chronic muscle tension. Therapeutic massage is a deep tissue, stress relieving treatment massage. Oil or cream is used to massage the whole body.
Sports Massage is for everyone who takes regular exercise. This can include anything from the occasional visit to the gym to a full marathon. Benefits: It is well known that regular sports massage can improve performance by as much as 20% and is of value in an integrated approach to injury prevention.
